BrandIdentity&Positioning

Colour, typography, tone of voice, visual language, and the strategic story that ties it all together.

Our brand identity design work covers colour, typography, tone of voice, visual language, and the strategic story that ties it all together. We build brand systems that hold up across every platform and every piece of content that follows.

The landscape

Identity now has to survive far more surfaces than it used to

A brand identity built even five years ago was designed for a website, a few print assets, and a handful of social posts. Today the same identity has to hold up across dozens of formats a week, vertical video, carousel templates, AI-generated summaries of the brand on Google and ChatGPT, WhatsApp business profiles, marketplace listings. Identity systems that only specify a logo and two colours break down fast under that volume, because nobody has time to make a fresh design decision for every one of those formats every week.

The practical shift this has forced is toward identity systems built more like a toolkit than a static guideline PDF, modular templates, a defined tone-of-voice with real example copy rather than adjectives, and enough flexibility that a founder or a junior team member can produce something on-brand without a designer in the loop for every asset. Brands that get this right move faster and look more consistent doing it. Brands that do not end up with a beautiful identity nobody can actually use day to day.

How GenMonk approaches this

How GenMonk approaches identity and positioning

We build identity as a working system, not a static deliverable: colour and typography, yes, but paired with a tone-of-voice document with real example copy across formats, and templates the client's own team can use without redesigning from scratch every time. Positioning work happens first, not after the visuals, since a strong-looking identity built on a fuzzy positioning statement tends to look expensive and say nothing.
